PRIVACY POLICY

Last updated: September 2026

Murwillumbah After Dark is run by [Business Murwillumbah legal entity name] (ABN [number]) ("we", "us"). This policy explains what personal information we collect through this website, why we collect it, and what we do with it. We handle personal information in line with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles.

What we collect

We only collect what we need. That may include:

  • your name, email address, phone number and business or venue details, if you contact us or submit the Get Involved form

  • details about an event, venue or project you tell us about, including images and descriptions you send

  • your email address, if you sign up for updates [delete if there's no newsletter]

  • general information about how people use the site, such as pages visited, device type and approximate location, collected through cookies and analytics tools [name the tool, e.g. Google Analytics]

We don't collect sensitive information, and we don't ask for payment details. Tickets are sold through Ferve, not through this website.

Why we collect it

We use your information to:

  • reply to your enquiry

  • review and publish event and venue listings you submit

  • contact you about Murwillumbah After Dark programs and opportunities, if you've asked us to

  • understand how the site is used so we can make it better

  • report to our funding body in general, non-identifying terms (for example, the number of submissions received)

Who we share it with

We don't sell or rent personal information. We may share it with:

  • service providers who help us run the site, such as our website host, email platform and analytics provider

  • venues or partners connected to an event you've asked about, where that's needed to handle your enquiry

  • anyone we're required to share it with by law

Some of these providers may store data outside Australia. [List countries if known, or remove this line.]

Ticketing and other sites

When you buy tickets, you're using Ferve's platform, and Ferve's own privacy policy applies. The same goes for other sites we link to, including venue websites, Visit the Tweed and social media. We aren't responsible for how those sites handle your information.

Cookies

The site uses cookies to work properly and to help us understand how it's used. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. Some parts of the site may not work as well if you do.

Keeping it safe

We take reasonable steps to protect your information from misuse, loss and unauthorised access. When we no longer need it, we delete it or remove anything that identifies you.

Accessing or correcting your information

You can ask to see the personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or unsubscribe from updates at any time. Email info@businessmurwillumbah.com.au and we'll respond within 30 days.

Complaints

If you think we've mishandled your information, email us first and we'll look into it. If you're not happy with our response, you can contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au.
